After having nine children in as many years, you might think Rayna and Malcolm Warriner's brood is complete. ! R7 u3 k1 o2 X( u. V$ A) G% G0 P& c: N: f) `
But, with one seat spare in the family minibus, the couple feel they still have a gap to fill. $ A5 R. T( U$ Z# N( w$ t
5 Y% N" z/ v- q5 d0 ]* m C
Less than a month after giving birth to their newest addition, Mrs Warriner is already broody for a tenth baby. : ]* `( Q! G$ m; K" K 7 e. |+ i' Q x"I’m hooked on the adrenaline rush I get from having a beautiful baby and it is a miracle that lasts a lifetime," said the former nursery manager, 32. 5 {: G( Z3 ~6 g3 h P' J3 Y- H* H# L2 U# ]"We have one more seat to fill in our 12-seater minibus. If my husband said that’s it, we would stop, but we both enjoy having children so much." ! _- ^; ^# k$ X& E5 s2 K g1 G& L$ }% M
! p0 R1 a9 u j8 IThe couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits. ' L. }2 E" V; s( k; [! [
+ v! h& {. L- U% }6 D
Their oldest child, Eryn, is nine. A year after her birth, the couple had Jackson, now eight, followed two years later by Harrison, six. 2 t' ]5 a; o8 d H+ `! l2 K ! F3 g+ L- u$ A! K% R# g# P, BAnother boy, Callan, arrived in 2003 and was followed by threeyear- old Taitum. 3 y1 ]7 g2 T/ _4 e$ n: U
. Y( a' r7 m( l0 J6 r9 e( f# x+ Q" Y
In March 2005, Rayna had triplet girls Ilish, Romany and Meredith, who are now 23 months. 1 m4 {$ L0 d% Z3 t! {2 G1 s/ v8 d5 \
Then on January 27 she gave birth to Avie, weighing 7lb 11oz, at Poole Hospital in Dorset. % [# z% y" e' P$ `0 C) w; U' e; y1 A$ h$ Z, w9 p
She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. ) k. Q% H) P3 X) i. Y
( |$ o9 s1 S7 [Mrs Warriner is now considered to be at high risk of complications if she becomes pregnant again. 7 ]2 H4 P- n j2 O# m" F) t1 j/ I , C; s6 L/ M% @& BBut despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood. ! M b8 g+ u! a+ g 1 X% l J+ r! ^0 r: |* e"We are not planning to have another one at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see what comes. 3 y+ \/ f5 ` r3 i. E0 D6 L; p% P; {( p/ x1 j) s
"People think we are mad but the children are our life and bring us so much pleasure. 4 |- ~1 g1 E+ Y3 K* P
+ s1 v8 m+ z/ C- o% z
"When we married we said we’d have six, then my husband joked that we’d have eight to wind my mother up, but we’ve gone beyond a joke now." ' s) y; d) I3 j1 y: l w1 a( a/ S, j6 {: b3 K, j$ X8 R3 m8 ?$ s
Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories. 9 b( Q2 Q, d1 y) g4 }* ]& o; B8 l& D5 N0 l6 O% R* g, {6 c
To accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house. . v- Y: U& \. O$ I0 F" |1 _9 G. n" l. ]- w/ J) f* e
They spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years. / u, v: ?+ d1 e+ W, L 4 B" C* y1 w! M2 P# I' U lThey struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children. & ~" @/ h7 i/ H J: M
z- ] y( l9 c/ l
Mr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight. 7 U! Z1 U' v: \2 X/ W/ N" z: V) Y# G0 Q8 ]( D
"We agreed to settle for six but it hasn’t worked out that way." & w% i% p3 _; _/ ]) }5 W
: b- Y4 f/ o8 o. CHe added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
