Runners who participate in the TD Beach to Beacon 10K this summer will go home with a special piece of artwork, thanks to a collaboration between the race and the Maine College of Art.The two organizations have designed a commemorative poster in honor of the 20th running of one of Maines marquee road races, scheduled for Aug. 5 in Cape Elizabeth.Each runner who registers for t owala austria he race will receive a poster created by Maine College of Art student Kirk Simpson of York, who was one of nine students tasked with coming up with original ideas.Simpsons design was inspired by the diversity of spectators as they watched runners complete the 6.2-mile course, which concludes at the Portland Head Light.A $2,500 contribution was made by the race in recognition of Simpsons work. The funds will be used to support the professional development of Maine College of Art students.All 12 designs that were chosen as finalists will be on display during race owala wasserflasche  weekend.
