Upgrade of solar arrays gives station enough power to host six astronauts for first time At 8:34 a.m. EDT this morning, the long-term crew of the International Space Station grew to six for the first time in the orbiterrsquo history.The three crew members onboard the Russian Soyuz TMA-15 spacecraft successfully docked with the space station early this morning. European Space Agency astronaut Frank De Winne, Russian cosmonaut Roman Romanenko and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Robert Thirsk have begun their six-month stay on the orbiter.
