Stellenausschreibung Project Manager
In our Consumer Protection and Product Safety Programme, based in Beijing and Shenzhen, we offer a position as Project Manager to support the Programme management, starting its assignment as soon as possible. The Programme is provided by the German Government till end of 2012 and advises national key institutions such as the State Administration of Industry and Commerce (SAIC) and the China Consumer's Association (CCA) on consumer protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) on product safety. On municipal level the Programme advises the Market Administration and Supervision of Shenzhen (MSAS) on both consumer protection and product safety. The basic concept stipulates theme-focused legal, policy and organizational advice to partners with different competences for consumer protection, product safety and standardization.
The main responsibilities will be to support the planning and implementation of Programme activities in a team of domestic and international experts jointly with the Chinese counterparts.
The main tasks for this job are, to
• support in planning, controlling, implementing, managing, coordinating and monitoring of Programme activities jointly with the Chinese counterparts on national and local level;
• support in planning, controlling, implementing, managing, coordinating and monitoring of projects with the private sector, i.e. public-private-partnerships;
• support the Programme documentation, i.e. writing progress reports, and other project documents in German or English language according the GTZ requirements;
• support in marketing and communication of Programme activities to GTZ headquarter other stakeholders and Chinese counterparts;
• support in publishing of papers in relevant journals on Programme activities or respective fields of consultancy after consultation with the project director;
• support and participate in capacity development events such as in trainings, workshops, conferences, etc. as well as other Programme or GTZ activities;
• ioin cross sector working groups and technical committees on national and local level to communicate and integrate the project results into Chinese guidelines and standards for a sector wide dissemination.
Requirements:
• university degree in the field of consumer protection or product safety with a focus on project management of internationally funded projects, or similar qualification;
• high level of technical English or German language skills, both in verbal and written communication and Chinese native speaker;
• at least 5 years working experience in the fields of consumer protection and product safety;
• knowledge in MS Office (esp. Word, Outlook, Project, Powerpoint and Excel);
• able to work in a team and fully committed to the project objectives;
• working experience with international projects, bi-and multilateral donors and/or working abroad would be an asset.
