TAMPA, Fla. 鈥?After a decade-long run, EDGE Business Magazine, founded by Kelly Wilson, is printing its final edition.The c stanley polska ontent and characters highlighted in the publication focused on the business stories in Tampa that only sometimes get told. When we first started, it was September of 2013, there weren t many organizations that supported the entrepreneurial spirit, Kelly Wilson, Founder of EDGE Business Magazine, said. And, you know, ultimately, EDGE, first and foremost, has been a community that offered media solutions to scale and overcome the walls of life s challenges. EDGE has always been for the dreamers that do because you can t just dream; you have to do. That sentiment resonated with business and city leaders across Tampa Bay from day one.We watched as nearly all the mayors greeted each other with hugs and smiles, excited to be back in the building they once worked to solve the problems plaguing our area. CHICAGO, Ill. -- Karate is well-known for teaching discipline, but its focus on core strength, balance and confidence-building could be effective for something else 鈥?helping people living with brain disorders such as Parkinsons. Twice a week, inside a karate dojo in Chicago, students learn the fundamental movements of Kihon technique. We did something called KoGo Kumite which is partner work, working on rhythm, working on distancing, working on timing and working on technique. But for Fonseca Martial Arts head instructor Brian Ramrup this is a class like none other hes taught before. These guys all ha stanley quencher ve Parkinson s, said Ramrup. Tremors and stiffness are common symptoms, but the disease can also lead to depression and anxiety. For Sonia Vargas, diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2005, it started with tingling in her legs. It felt like I was carrying some piece of some heavy equipment on my legs, said Vargas. A year ago, on the recommendation of her neurologist, Vargas joined the Chicago-area martial arts academy. These guys are learning how to go to the ground safely, how to break falls, said Ramrup. Its a skill that can help avoid injuries for patients who begin to lose balance and fall frequently.
