At聽6:03 p.m., Virginia State Police Trooper J.S. Martin was called to the scene of a six-vehicle chain reaction crash on Afton Mountain in Albemarle County. Traffic in the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 had slowed. A westbound Ford F-150 failed to stop in time and sparked the chain reaction crash. Based on the troopers investigation, the F-150 pickup truck struck the vehicle in front it, which pushed that vehicle into the one in front of it.
