The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits.

Then on January 27 she gave birth to Avie, weighing 7lb 11oz, at Poole Hospital in Dorset.

She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. ) \; T; x) @2 w6 a

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories. ' H: h: x$ n6 o( s3 w9 W6 c

To accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house.

$ `  _0 k1 T  {1 O( w+ \6 T& HThey spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years.

/ u4 i4 f2 W0 v; N# KThey struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children.
