But, with one seat spare in the family minibus, the couple feel they still have a gap to fill.

Less than a month after giving birth to their newest addition, Mrs Warriner is already broody for a tenth baby.

"I’m hooked on the adrenaline rush I get from having a beautiful baby and it is a miracle that lasts a lifetime," said the former nursery manager, 32. ' X: ^% Y0 w3 V( R) H! A

The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits.

She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. # S- I0 b  x$ V+ P

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

' n; b! t7 m1 D! v; W* X+ uMrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories.

4 G9 x$ v- I, L/ N+ P) C# WThey spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years.

They struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children.

Mr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight. 0 }' n# a( h$ w

He added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
