But, with one seat spare in the family minibus, the couple feel they still have a gap to fill.

Another boy, Callan, arrived in 2003 and was followed by threeyear- old Taitum.

"People think we are mad but the children are our life and bring us so much pleasure.

"When we married we said we’d have six, then my husband joked that we’d have eight to wind my mother up, but we’ve gone beyond a joke now."

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories. + E- {4 K1 g% \

To accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house. $ c: L/ Q1 w0 [; T' }2 {+ E

They spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years.

Mr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight.

"We agreed to settle for six but it hasn’t worked out that way."

He added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
