After having nine children in as many years, you might think Rayna and Malcolm Warriner's brood is complete.& r+ [9 N( l) h: X

But, with one seat spare in the family minibus, the couple feel they still have a gap to fill.

She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. # p. y9 C" y& j  v  R

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

"We are not planning to have another one at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see what comes.

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories.

& t" V/ V4 U( F( ~3 I/ zMr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight.

"We agreed to settle for six but it hasn’t worked out that way."
