In March 2005, Rayna had triplet girls Ilish, Romany and Meredith, who are now 23 months.

She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. : F4 G8 K, A/ \+ t

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories.

They struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children.

Mr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight. 0 |; E2 O5 r4 P+ ]3 g$ q

He added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
