But, with one seat spare in the family minibus, the couple feel they still have a gap to fill.

0 M( Y! J% i: r2 T  k/ N/ _+ FLess than a month after giving birth to their newest addition, Mrs Warriner is already broody for a tenth baby.

The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits. 9 O, C  ~/ }; D& c% g, l

Another boy, Callan, arrived in 2003 and was followed by threeyear- old Taitum.

4 V* B" V! X( t7 sThen on January 27 she gave birth to Avie, weighing 7lb 11oz, at Poole Hospital in Dorset.

, p) p  E1 F  VShe had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. 2 d& A; Z" |4 d/ S3 ~

Mrs Warriner is now considered to be at high risk of complications if she becomes pregnant again. : ]2 s: s# ]8 U9 X# `2 N

/ M. V- J2 y7 c, t6 d2 @' ABut despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

"When we married we said we’d have six, then my husband joked that we’d have eight to wind my mother up, but we’ve gone beyond a joke now."

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories. - c1 f9 l- i% ]  O! ~/ K

9 d. o+ \8 t( Z; U! CTo accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house. & Y$ r; M2 I+ F- P" d; a$ L

He added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
