She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. $ l8 c* W" G* L

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

"We are not planning to have another one at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see what comes.

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories. * H2 P' y; ?% O( w1 F

) }8 Q  ~& g& MTo accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house.

They struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children.

. @! {0 F) b7 dMr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight. ) S  Z$ C9 T+ u' ~- A

"We agreed to settle for six but it hasn’t worked out that way." % C3 u! ]+ }4 j

He added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
