The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits.

In March 2005, Rayna had triplet girls Ilish, Romany and Meredith, who are now 23 months.

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood. ; C' m" C# q. b0 ]7 v

"People think we are mad but the children are our life and bring us so much pleasure.

To accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house. 9 t. i8 A+ [1 ?5 q) W$ _% r

They spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years. " ?1 a! X  a) q3 d7 q
