英国大英博物馆表示，它欢迎与中国研究人员联合进行针对英法联军150年前从圆明园所劫文物的调查。报道说，中国去年宣布，计划派代表团前往包括大英博物馆在内的世界各国博物馆，以查清约150万件殖民时代中国被掠文物的下落。
