My note-taking process has evolved over time. Initially, I wrote notes in the margins of books, but now I type them up afterward. Its easier to organize and search through them when I need to.
After trying various note-taking methods, plain text turned out to be the most effective for me. It doesnt require a lot of maintenance, and I can update it quickly. Its nice to have a system that feels low-pressure.
