圣地牙哥加大（UCSD）教授公然歧视华人？ 22日在中国留学生论坛里，该校化学系教授Clifford Kubiak的实验室条例被曝光，其中一条写道：「不要相信中国人说的话。」（Don't believe anything the Chinaman says）。- T) K5 P( B9 S0 I6 p2 ^- W* E

: p# k2 a1 U: V0 O虽然大多数网友都颇为气愤，不过也有网友表示，Going to see the Chinaman （去见个中国人）是句俚语，意指去华人餐馆买个外卖，并无强烈的歧视意味。而且根据一些高阶词典的解释，这里的「Chinaman」应该指的是华人餐馆常见随餐附送的幸运小饼干（Fortune Cookie），该教授也许只是用一种幽默表达方式，让学生们不要因为相信幸运小饼干里那张字条的话而找借口不好好做事。9 o% h: v, X$ B6 l% c

Clifford Kubiak, a professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of California San Diego, has posted an apology for an offensive term that was used on his laboratory’s website.( G% b4 i1 A2 S  L+ C

( V- C% S' i) ]/ y; i7 Q0 SIn a list of “lab rules,” apparently meant to be humorous, there was the phrase: “Don’t believe anything the Chinaman says.”

Kubiak’s message, posted on his lab website, reads:

“Please accept my personal and sincere apologies for the insensitive language recently found on my laboratory’s website. I find the language offensive and I am embarrassed by the poor judgment exhibited in posting the offending language. Although I was unaware of the existence of this page until it was brought to my attention, I accept full responsibility. I have taken steps to remove the offending language and will arrange for appropriate training for my research group and me relative to the UCSD Principles of Community.”
