A suspected drunken driver on Tuesday caused several crashes, including one at Highland Elementary School. Nobody was hurt, but three kids lost their bikes, so the St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation and the Spoke Shop decided to replace those bikes.Aubrey Williams, a third-grader at Highla stanley cup nd Elementary School, looked for a new bike on Friday. Special, she said. It is fun to get a new bike instead of just riding in the boring car every day. Aubrey is one of three students whose bikes were damaged on Tuesday. Wiley Phi stanley cup l, a second-grader at H stanley cup ighland also lost his bike. And he ll replace it with the same one from REI Co-Op. Mostly that was definitely bigger than my small bike, Phil said. We re just feeling pretty spoiled to have our community reach out and take care of the kids this way, said Julie Donald, principal at Highland.Donald was in a meeting when the crash happened and said some students were outside in an after-school sports program. I got outside and that s when I found out that they were all okay, Donald said. It was a pretty intense scene to walk in on and so just so grateful. Donald said a neighbor gave one family money for a new bike the day of the accident. Aubre Hvbx Science proves balanced breathing drastically reduces panic attacks
The owners of Gallery 16 in downtown Great Falls announced that they plan to close the gallery doors a af1 t the end of May.For five decades, the gallery has provided an opportunity for arti salomon sts across the state to showcase their art. The pieces displayed in the gallery are selected by gallery members. Current gallery member Judy Ericksen shared what pieces visitors might find in the gallery during its glory days: Anything that said art to you: paintings, sculptures, pottery, cards...all made by hand. Ericksen said seeing the doors close is going to be a difficult transition. Its a hard change. Partly because were such a tightly knit group and we enjoy each others company and making the gallery work, but weve provided for hundreds and hundreds of artists throughout the whole state of Montana and so theyre going to be missing this opportunity to show their work too. While the gallery is closing, the gallery members are not parting ways. The members are going to be getting together. Were already making plans...Its a sisterhood. So well be seeing each other, Ericksen said. The end of May isnt the last time the public can see their favorite pieces on display, either. There w adidas campus ill be on |
