出口玩具大量增加，问题玩具也随之增多，据“纽约时报”今天报导，美国今年到目前因安全因素回收的玩具共二十四种，每一种都是中国制造，而这项纪录已造成消费者保护团体、家长和当局的紧张。

过去一个月当中，中国销美玩具回收的例子还包括一款搞怪假眼球，因为眼球内部含有煤油；有些玩具鼓和玩具熊也因为使用含铅涂料回收，另外有一款在摇动时会发出声响的婴儿手环，因为可能导致婴儿噎死而回收。 美国消费品安全委员会下令回收的中国制品，在过去五年增加了一倍，使美国去年回收产品总件数达到四百六十七件，创新年度纪录。 去年回收的产品中，大约有百分之六十是中国生产。公元两千年中国产品所占比例为百分之三十六。 报导说，回收中国产品增加，跟中国玩具出口量大增有关。据美国玩具工业协会表示，在美国销售的玩具当中，有七成到八成是由中国生产。 中国销美的宠物食品以及卖到全球的药品和牙膏最近都传出问题，在这个背景下，连串玩具回收的现象已经使得要求美国管理当局、进口商以及中国政府和业者加强落实安全规定的呼声升高。
