The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits.

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood.

"We are not planning to have another one at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see what comes.

% k- h! ^( [& Z  K; V( e7 l7 uTo accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house.

They spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years.
